Welcome to Le Touquet, a small coastal town tucked away in the French countryside in the current modern day— known by word of mouth as a safe haven for supernaturals who have left the safety of the Feywilds, or those who once lived hidden within mortal society but now seek something more long-term and secure, far from human greed and violence as the appearance of Hunters have become more prevalent worldwide in the last eighty years.

The town, run and operated by a duly elected cabinet of officials, is protected from prying eyes by powerful wards that render it nearly undetectable to anyone outside their area of effect. However, all supernatural beings can feel a pull in their chest when nearby— a sensation that grows stronger the closer they are to the barrier that conceals the town from the outside world. To the majority of the mortal world, Le Touquet does not exist, nor has it ever existed.

To maintain order and prevent rising tensions between feuding species, all individuals entering the ward surrounding Le Touquet are required by law to submit to blood testing to verify their status within the town. The specifics of these tests, and how they are conducted, remain a closely guarded secret. Rumors persist, however, of medical staff being bribed or threatened into falsifying results for powerful beings.

The Cabinet vehemently denies these allegations and maintains that blood status assignments are determined based on specific personal characteristics revealed through the testing process, and that the process itself is handled exclusively by individuals with the necessary training and security clearance and remain completely accurate— Whether or not this is the truth remains UNKNOWN to the general public at this time.
