About Server
Shadowdale rests where the River Ashaba meets the North Ride, a quiet town framed by golden fields and the deep shadows of Cormanthor. Known across the Dalelands for its centuries of stubborn independence, the village has long stood as a beacon of freedom, famed for the Old Skull hill, the Twisted Tower of Ashaba, and the lingering legacy of Elminster Aumar. Farmers, tradesfolk, and the orcish river families who ferry travellers along the Ashaba give the community its welcoming character, even as ancient pacts, forgotten tunnels, and storied landmarks whisper of battles and heroes past.At the end of the Liar’s Night festival, something in Shadowdale shifted. Only the adventurers who witnessed the event remember Lady Mareldraea Hawkguard and the town as it once was; to the villagers, Lady Khara Sulwood has always ruled from the Twisted Tower, and every face, building, and memory sits perfectly in place. Though the town carries on - market stalls bustling, prayers rising at Morningdawn Hall, merriment echoing from the Old Skull Inn - those who were there on Liar’s Night feel an uncanny dissonance beneath the surface, as if two versions of the dale have merged around them.Yet Shadowdale remains a place where the extraordinary lies just beneath the soil. Drow still probe the tunnels under the Old Skull, Zhentarim agents test the dale’s borders, and tension grows as ambitious Sembia continues its push for influence in the region, especially after its annexation of Moondale. To the east, the fallen elven city of Myth Drannor beckons with lost magic, haunted glory, and treasures untouched since the Shadovar’s fall. Lady Khara calls for brave souls to defend the heart of the Dalelands, explore the ruins that surround it, and chart the shifting truths of a dale where history and mystery walk hand in hand.
