In terms of the lore, it takes place in the present day, or rather, something more futuristic. Now, with najime creating more accessible ships for people to explore space, it's pretty easy to go from one planet to another, explore these worlds, find valuable items, search for treasures in asteroids. Be free to explore this vast space. As for that universe, it is set in a world interconnected with other dimensions.
